A Powys man who allegedly sent a threatening Twitter post to barrister and women's rights campaigner Dr Charlotte Proudman has chosen to have his case heard before a crown court judge.
David Mottershead, 42, of Derwenlas, near Machynlleth, pleaded not guilty to harassment by causing fear of violence and possession of a knife in a public place when he appeared before Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, March 28.
His trial was fixed for April 28 at Mold Crown Court with conditional bail not to contact Dr Proudman.
Mottershead also denies carrying a small, locked knife at Aberystwyth Police Station on January 8 this year.
Dr Proudman, a Fellow of Queen's College, Cambridge, researches and lectures on gender inequality and female genital mutilation.
