“We are working to the theme ‘Birds of A Feather’, about how we all share a common humanity,” said a group spokesperson. “No matter what the differences are between us, and how diversity and difference should be valued and celebrated. At the end of the project we will hold an exhibition to show all the work produced, and we will also share the work online.”
Before this there will be a workshop on felt techniques with artist Nicola Knapton on April 1.
Other workshops the group will be providing will include block printing, weaving, small willow owl sculptures, felt bird vessels, cyanotype on fabric, and fabric spray stencils. The workshops are free and open to all and materials and refreshments will be provided.
The spokesperson for Celf-Able added that the group will be working on a monthly bird-themed challenge set by various members, at their regular mid-week sessions around Montgomeryshire.
Celf-Able have said that a full list of dates and workshops is available on request. Places are limited so booking is required. For further information: email admin@celf-able.org or telephone 07972 932543.
