One of the best pizza parlours in Wales has closed for the final time. 7 Pizza Parlour in Newtown served its last pizza at the Severn Street joint last weekend.
Owner Andy Meek told customers: “It has been a great nine years - can't believe it has been that long - and we have had some wonderful staff and customers.
“I would like to send a heartfelt thank you to those who have helped us on our journey.”
Andy will take his award-winning pizza making skills on the road in May with his new venture Amore Pizza which will be serving wood-fired pizzas from a classic Peugeot J9 van at weddings, parties and festivals including the Newtown Food Festival in September.

Announcing the news that the pizza parlour would be closing, Andy said last this month: “We have loved every minute of our last nine years and have been treated to some wonderful customers who have become firm friends.
“Unfortunately, the landlord of the premises will not lease the property to anybody else and so I am unable to sell the business.
“I am saddened that our decision to carry on has also been influenced by the opening of Dominos but it has had a 50 per cent impact on our business.”
