A chef who assaulted the owner of a popular Welshpool pub and restaurant will have to wait until next week for his sentence while the court receives the outcome of a probation report.
Jed Robertson, 28, admitted at an earlier court hearing that he caused actual bodily harm to David Laycock at The Raven Inn during an incident on May 22 last year.
Appearing at Mold Crown Court on Wednesday (March 22) carrying a holdall bag, Robertson was told by a judge that his sentencing hearing would be adjourned to midday on Monday (March 27).

His Honour Judge Rhys Rowlands said: “I’m sorry that we can’t deal with it today. It’s no fault of anyone here but [probation officer] Mrs Mitchell will kindly interview you today.
“I am bailing you to Monday, March 27 at noon. You will be dealt with by one way or another; please don’t read anything into it.”
Robertson, of High Roads, South Shields, near Newcastle, was found not guilty of wounding Zac Tipton with intent, and wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent following a trial at Mold Crown Court in mid-February.
Emergency services rushed to the pub and restaurant in Raven Square following reports of two people being injured, including one which police described as “traumatic” injuries.
