A MAN has been told he faces a "lengthy custodial sentence" after admitting a pair of serious wounding offences.
Charles Pears, of Old Kerry Road in Newtown, appeared at Mold Crown Court on Friday morning.
The 27-year-old denied that on November 23, he attempted to murder Sigrid Menzel and Jeffrey Bielar.
However he admitted two counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm against Sigrid Menzel - committed on the same date.
Sarah Badrawy, prosecuting, told the court the alternative pleas were acceptable to the Crown Prosecution Service.

Judge Rhys Rowlands adjourned Pears' sentencing to May 5, telling him: "There are reports - you've already been seen by a psychologist and a psychiatrist.
"I order a full pre-sentence report; you will be seen by a probation officer and you need to keep that appointment. If you refuse to see them, that will be held against you.
"You mustn't read anything into the fact I am adjourning for a report. This is a very serious matter.
"A lengthy custodial sentence is inevitable.
"It will be a question of how long you'll be serving, but you will get credit for pleading guilty today."
