Newtown residents that would like to host a Coronation party in their street, estate or community can apply for up to £100 from the town council.
To mark the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort, Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council is inviting people and groups apply to help with event costs.
The parties must be held in a public space - rather than in private houses or gardens - between May 1 and 10 and take place in the Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn area. The grant must only be spent on items such as food, decorations, hall hire and older person facilities, but not alcohol.

The council has set aside £2,000 for the grants meaning payments will be made on a first come, first served basis.
The deadline for applications is Friday, May 5, but the council has asked applicants to allow five working days between submitting details and the date of the event.
Those wishing to host street parties may wish to take up the offer of free street closures from Powys County Council by sending an email to traffic@powys.gov.uk before the Sunday, March 12, deadline.
