OSIAN Pryce has announced his plans not to defend his British Rally Championship (BRC) crown.
The 2023 season gets underway with the Malcolm Wilson Rally this weekend but the Aberangell star will not be taking part - much to the shock of fans.
The Malcolm Wilson Rally starts from the M-Sport facility outside of Cockermouth early on Saturday morning, with seven stages and around 51 stage miles on offer during the day.
Pryce took to social media to explain his decision to not enter the rally and defend his championship crown.
He said: “There has been a lot been going on behind the scenes and still going on. There have been a lot of set backs but hopefully if progress improves I will be able to share some sort of plan

“I’m not on the entry list for the first round of the British Championship and I won’t be defending my crown this year. This is my own choice.
“My reason for not defending the title is not due to there being no incentives and lack of competition. There’s no lack of competition, there may not be quantity but there is quality.”
“I’ve supported the BRC for over half of my rally career and I feel now is the time to give something else a go to see how it goes. It’s now or never.
Pryce insisted his plans would remain within the sporting world.
He said: “I’ve followed a path for as long as I remember so now I’m going to change that path and enjoy some high level of competition in new areas and environments.
“After all, rallying so far, is a hobby of mine, and all my family and friends are a massive part of it too so it’s important we all enjoy it so I can go on and be competitive for years to come.”
