A MOTORIST has pleaded not guilty to drug driving and will face a trial later this year.
Welshpool Magistrates’ Court heard last week that Jamie O’Connor, 41, denied one charge of driving with cannabis in his system on October 19 in Buttington, near Welshpool.
O’Connor, from Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, was stopped by police driving an Audi A3 on the A458 and was drug tested – allegedly producing a reading of 5.1 micrograms. The legal limit is 2 micrograms.
He denied the offence when appearing on Tuesday, February 21.
His case was adjourned for trial, which is due to take place in Welshpool on June 19.
