Plans for a new £9.1 million special school near Newtown will go on public display next week.

Brynllywarch Hall School, located on the outskirts of Kerry, is for pupils who cannot attend mainstream school for a variety of reasons including exclusion or mental health difficulties.

Powys County Council says the current Grade II-listed mansion house is “inadequate for modern education” and wants to build a new modern single storey school for 72 pupils that is "fit for the 21st Century".

OTHER NEWS:

Asbri Planning Ltd. has been commissioned by Powys County Council to undertake pre-application consultation in respect of the full planning permission for the proposed new school, ancillary buildings, a multi-use games area (MUGA) for local community use, and associated landscaping, highways and engineering works on land adjacent to the school.

A public exhibition is being held on Tuesday (February 28) and Tuesday, March 7, from 3.30pm to 7pm at Brynllywarch Hall School where the proposals will be displayed, and members of the design team will be available to answer any questions.
