A NEWTOWN man accused of assaulting his ex-partner when she tried to end their relationship has denied the offence.
Curtis Jefferies, of Lon Glanyrafon, denies two charges of assaulting Lucy Hawksworth, including causing her actual bodily harm on August 18 last year, when it is said she broke up with the 22-year-old.
Jefferies is also charged with assaulting her friend, Manon Jones, causing her actual bodily harm, on the same date.
A third charge states that Jefferies assaulted Ms Hawksworth between July 14 and 31, 2022.
Jefferies denied all three offences when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 31.
Magistrates adjourned the case and set it down for trial; it is due to take place in Welshpool on May 3.
Jefferies was granted conditional bail; he is not to contact either Ms Hawksworth or Ms Jones, and is not to go within 100 metres of an address in the Cledan area of Newtown.
