A POWYS teenager will appear in the crown court next month to face charges of making more than 3,000 indecent images of children.
Nicholas McGuchan, 19, from Llanbister, is charged with three offences in total, in relation to making a total of 3,475 images.
Of those, 3,002 images are said to be of a Category A nature – the most serious. Another 473 are said to be of a Category B nature.
The offences are alleged to have taken place between March 9, 2018, and January 6, 2022.
McGuchan, of Church Hall, Llanbister, entered no pleas to either charge when he appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, February 1, and his case was immediately sent to the crown court to be dealt with.
Magistrates committed the case to Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court.
McGuchan will make an initial appearance there on March 1.
