A MUM-of-four has been handed a fine after Class A drugs were found when a container fell out of her underwear following her arrest.

Lisa Meredith, from Llandrindod Wells, was found in possession of MDMA, as well as Valium pills, on September 24 last year.

The 40-year-old admitted two counts of attempting to possess the drugs when she appeared at the town’s magistrates’ court on Wednesday, January 18.

Prosecutor Stephen Davies said the amount of MDMA, a Class A drug, found in the defendant’s possession was 6.2 grams, while 17 Valium tablets, a Class C drug, were also found.

“PC Dicks and Isherwood were on mobile patrol when they saw the defendant walking along Cadwallader Way and they detained her,” said Mr Davies.

OTHER NEWS:

“A small plastic tub with a white lid had fallen out of her underwear, as well as six brown rocks. She admitted they were Valium and MDMA.”

Mr Davies said Meredith had two previous convictions, dating back to 2011.

Acting for the defendant, of Trefonen Way, Llandrindod, Gareth Walters said: “The offences are attempting to possess drugs as they were sent away for analysis but have never been tested, but she assumes they would have come back as drugs.

County Times:

“At the time she was struggling. Things are far more positive as far as the future is concerned.

“She struggles with a number of mental health issues and takes anti-psychotic medication, which surely would not have mixed well with these drugs.

“The last drug conviction was actually in 2008 so is of some age.”

Magistrates fined Meredith £120 for the MDMA offence and £40 for the Valium. She must also pay a £64 surcharge and £85 costs.
