Two council workers have been praised as "superheroes" after braving the cold and heavy rain to help unblock culverts and release flood water near Llanidloes.
After travelling more than 30 miles from their base in Llandrindod Wells, Powys County Council workers Dafydd and Jamie helped alleviate the, what's been dubbed as, "the great unbung" of Llawr-y-glyn.
Diana Ashworth, an author who lives in the hamlet, said their work "must be one of the most satisfying jobs in the world" after almost 100 millilitres of rain fell in 24 hours.
"The valley now resounds with the glugs and gurgles of dispersing flood water thanks to Dafydd and Jamie, sent by Powys Council to relieve our blocked culverts," she said.
