THE supremely talented Llandrindod Wells Theatre Company are back on stage this weekend, re-enacting the story of Rapunzel.
The much-loved story comes with a twist – and a tangle – as pantomime season arrives in the spa town with performances this weekend.
The show, entitled ‘Rapunzel – a Tangled Panto’, is being staged throughout this weekend, from Friday to Sunday, January 20-22, at the Albert Hall.
“This year, for the first time, we’re performing the story of Rapunzel which tells the tale of a young girl who was taken from her parents, the king and queen of Bouffant when she was a baby by the evil witch Gothel,” said the show’s producer and director, Kieran Davies.
“As the years pass, the king and queen released sky lanterns every year on her birthday to mark her being taken, while alone in her tower Rapunzel watched them light up the sky.
“The show starts on the eve of her 18th birthday where she longs to leave the tower and find the source of the magic lights she sees every year on her birthday.”
The cast list of principals is: Rapunzel – Anna Percy; Prince George – Laura Duggan; Hetty Hairspray – Phil Evans; Willy – Abi Evans; Gothel – Zoe Evans; Socket – Emma Davies; Ball – Gareth Jones; King – Owain Price; Queen – Emily Watkins; Fairy Good – Mandy Davies; Fairy Well – Jo Francis; Fairy Nuff – Nic Prince.
