TWO Powys football clubs have made their ambitions clear by applying for promotion to JD Cymru North.
Ardal North East League leaders Caersws have been joined by Llanfair United in applying for second tier membership next season along with Cefn Albion, Corwen and Llanuwchllyn.
Meanwhile Bangor 1876, Brickfield Rangers, Rhyl 1879, Denbigh Town, Flint Mountain, Llay Welfare and Nantlle Vale have applied from the north western league.
Caersws will hope to go one better after losing last season’s promotion play-off to Porthmadog and finally return to the upper echelons of Welsh football.
Manager Mark Griffiths said: “We achieved a tier two licence last season so hopefully there won’t be too much of a issue achieving it again.”

Llanfair United secretary Jon Richards said the club was also keen to see second tier football return to Mount Field.
He said: “We’ve successfully got the tier two licence for a number of years now and look to continue to do so as a recognition of all the hard work that goes on at the club.”
