A MOTORIST has denied drink driving, careless driving and possession of a knife, and will face trial later this year.
Anthony Norman Sparrow pleaded not guilty to all three offences put to him when he appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court this week.
The 37-year-old is accused of being drunk while driving a silver Audi A6 on the B4954 at Newchurch, near Painscastle, on December 7 last year. It is alleged Sparrow had 64 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath – the legal limit is 35 micrograms.
He is also charged with driving without due care and attention on the same date, as well as possessing a sharply pointed blade, said to be a Leatherman multi tool with locking blades.
Sparrow, of Hawthorne Farm, Shelwick, near Hereford, is set to face trial at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on March 1.
