LIFUMPA Mwandwe has returned to Newtown Football Club.
Supporters were united in shock and delight after it was announced the crowd favourite and one of the best players in the league in recent years was confirmed to have returned on loan from Canadian Premier League side Halifax Wanderers.
The former Shrewsbury Town youngster departed Latham Park in the summer having helped the club defeat HB Torshavn and progress in the UEFA Conference League before departing for the Nova Scotia based club.
Now the 22 year old has returned to Latham Park and could be included in Saturday's squad against Connah's Quay Nomads should international clearance be received.
The return of the winger is another boost for the club who thrashed Aberystwyth Town 6-1 in their last game while Caernarfon Town's defeat against TNS in midweek ensured the Robins a top six finish.
Manager Chris Hughes said: "We're delighted to welcome Fumpa back into the group.
"We understand his qualities and know how to get the best out of him. I am sure he will have a positive impact on the second half of our season."
Mwandwe also shared his delight at returning to the club for the next few months.
"I am excited to be back and can't wait to get going," he said. "We're on a good run at the moment and I am looking forward to helping the team reach their targets."
Mwandwe will remain at Latham Park until the start of the Canadian Premier League season in April and hope to fire the Robins back into Europe.
