A CAR fire closed a busy Powys road for several hours on Monday (January 2).
A white BMW was the cause of the emergency near New Radnor on Monday, with emergency services called to the scene at around 3.15pm.
Photos taken from passers-by captured the dramatic scene on the A44, which bypasses the Radnorshire village. The road was closed fully for around an hour, before being completely reopened around 6pm.
“We were called to a car fire on the A44 near New Radnor at around 3.15pm on Monday, 2 January,” said Dyfed Powys Police in a statement.
“The road was partially reopened at 4.10pm, with traffic flowing. The car was recovered and the road fully reopened by 6pm.”
There were no details of any injuries and it is not clear how many occupants were inside the white BMW.
