KIERAN Mills-Evans scored twice as Newtown came from behind to claim the Boxing Day derby spoils at Aberystwyth Town.
The Robins returned to the scene of their JD Welsh Cup conquest last month and keen to return to winning ways following their defeat at Cardiff Met last week.
However it was the Seasiders who broke the deadlock following an even opening with Steff Davies rising above Shane Sutton to glance on a headed pass to Jonny Evans to net after 27 minutes.

Newtown were back on terms within two minutes with Mills-Evans causing chaos in the home area after the the Seasiders failed to clear a long throw from the right from Callum Roberts.

Mills-Evans was once again on hand as Newtown led on the stroke of half-time with the defender steering home Matthew Jones' corner glanced on by Louis Robles.

Aberystwyth looked to get back on terms after the break with Evans firing wide early on.
Iwan Lewis fired over in the only other half chance for the Seasiders as the Robins held out to claim three points to end 2022 in fifth place and with a place in the championship conference within reach.
