Work on a new bridge outside Machynlleth is set to take place on the over the next three days causing delays to traffic in the area.
The work on the Dyfi Bridge will take place from December 20-22 and will see a section of the A487 closed entirely for 10-minute intervals while workers move bridge beams to the work site.
The Welsh Government said the work is necessary because the "Pont-ar-Ddyfi bridge was not designed to carry the current volume of traffic. The road is often closed due to frequent flooding causing traffic to take a diversion of up to 30 miles."
The Government are hoping that the works will make the A487 safer, help prevent flooding and make it easier for people to walk and cycle across the bridge.

The plans will see a new single carriageway road being built - joining the existing A487 south east of Pont-ar-Ddyfi bridge.
According to the Welsh Government: "The new road will cross the River Dyfi approximately 480m upstream of the existing bridge. This new stretch of road will become the A487, with the existing road north of the bridge becoming the A493.
"After the work is finished the A493 and the existing A487 south of the Pont-ar-Ddyfi bridge will no longer be a Welsh Government road and will be maintained by local authorities once the new road is open to traffic."
