FIREFIGHTERS in Llandrindod Wells have warned parents to educate their children about the dangers of playing on frozen water.
On Sunday, December 18, firefighters from Llandrindod Wells Fire Station were called out following reports of children playing on a lake in the town and refusing to leave.
Firefighters were stood down while they were heading to the lake.
Earlier in the week four boys died after falling into a lake in Solihull and the fire service said it didn't want a repeat.
It tweeted: "We responded this morning to reports of children playing on the frozen town lake and refusing to leave.
"We were luckily stood down on route.
"Please educate your children regarding the dangers of playing on frozen water.
"We don’t want another tragedy this winter."
