A MAN told a police officer in Newtown that that he had cannabis in a container hidden between his bum cheeks, a court has heard.
Lee Roberts was spotted getting out of a taxi in Newtown by a police officer who clocked that the 33-year-old was breaching his bail conditions.
He told the officer on November 10: “I’m going to jail, man. I’m going to prison” before he was asked whether he had anything on him.
Helen Tench, prosecutor, told the court that Roberts said to the officer: "I’ve got a bit of weed and it's in my arse cheeks in a pot so it might have opened."

Roberts, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to possession 2.3 grams of cannabis when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on November 29.
Robert Hanratty, defending, told the court: "There is no excuse for having cannabis on him. It was £23 worth, a small quantity."
Magistrates ordered Roberts to pay an £80 fine, £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.
