Llanfyllin’s Christmas market is returning on Friday, December 2 and Saturday, December 3, with a fully packed schedule.

The market will include stalls in and around Llanfyllin’s Public Institute, on the Spar supermarket forecourt and on the Square, as well as some in St Myllin’s Church.

Hot food will also be available for both days from the likes of Peter Tomlinson Butchers, Down to Earth, Zedzfoods and Llanfyllin YFC.

On the Friday, Arts Connection are running a Christmas craft session at 3.30pm, while Ysgol Llanfyllin primary singers and Troednoeth folk band will be performing outside the Cain Valley Hotel at 4pm.

At 6pm the town’s Christmas lights will be switched on by David Evans, Llanfyllin’s longest serving firefighter, at 6pm.

On Saturday there will be more music outside the Cain Valley Hote, from Ysgol Llanfyllin singers, Beresford, Williams and Foote, as well as the Porthywaen Silver Band.

Santa’s Grotto will be open at the Cross Keys from 3.30pm to 6.30pm on Friday and from 1pm to 3pm on Saturday.

Mayor Alison Alexander said: “The weather forecast is good so we’re looking forward to coming together for a lovely couple of days of music and entertainment to kick off the festive season. Let’s support our local businesses and makers and raise money for some good causes while we’re at it.”
