A man has been charged with attempting to murder two people who were later taken to hospital following a serious incident that closed a Newtown road.
Charles Edward George Pear, 26, of Old Kerry Road, Newtown was charged with two counts of attempted murder after two people were hurt on Wednesday morning (November 23).
Dyfed-Powys Police said he had been remanded to appear at Wrexham Magistrates' Court on Friday, November 25.
Emergency services were called to a property in Old Kerry Road, near the Pryce Jones building on Wednesday morning (November 23) at around 11.45am.
Police cordoned off the road for several hours behind Burger King while officers investigated the incident. Police vehicles were also outside the property in Old Kerry Road on Thursday while officers continued their investigation.
Last week, Dyfed-Powys Police said two people were taken to hospital and a 26-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of assault.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today (November 23), shortly before 11:45am to reports of an incident on Old Kerry Road, Newtown.
“We sent two rapid response vehicles and two emergency ambulances to the scene, where we were supported by the Emergency Medical and Retrieval Transfer Service.
“One person was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital for further treatment.”
