A Llanfair Caereinion rugby club has donated £6,000 for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund after raising the money through a charity auction.
On November 12, representatives from Caereinion Old Boys Rugby Association (COBRA) met with Tarrah Lewis, fundraiser for Lingen Davies to present a cheque for £6,000 to the charity before the club’s game against Denbigh.
The money was raised through the sale of a number of items at a COBRA Gentlemen’s Dinner in April.

The initiative for COBRA to raise the money for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund came about when the club’s former secretary, Sarah Lewis, was diagnosed with breast cancer in January.
Her son Ian Lewis and his friend Joss Davies held their twenty first birthday at COBRA, where they asked for donations to Lingen Davies which the rugby club contributed to with the donations from items auctioned.
Commenting on the donation, Sarah Lewis said: “As a past secretary I was pleased COBRA saw it appropriate to donate to Lingen Davies.
“The charity does tremendous work throughout Mid-Wales, and has a real, palpable effect on people living with cancer in the community.”
