A man will face a trial next year after denying that he was in charge of a Mercedes van at a Builth Wells car park while almost three times the drink drive limit.
Peter Evans, 56, of Whetstone, Leicestershire claims he would not have driven while over the limit.
He pleaded not guilty to the offence of being in charge of a motor vehicle while above the legal alcohol limit when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 15.
Prosecutors allege the Leicestershire man was in charge of a Mercedes Vito van at the Groe car park in Builth Wells on October 16.
A test found he had 96 micrograms of alcohol per 100 militres of breath when the legal limit is 35 micrograms.
Evans was told that his trial will take place at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on February 6 and he will remain on unconditional bail until that date.
