A TEENAGER faces a trial in the New Year after denying two charges of possessing a knife in public.

Joshua Steven Powell, from Newbridge-on-Wye, was stopped by police in Builth Wells on January 23 this year. It is said the 18-year-old was in possession of an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed – namely two folding pocket knives, both of which had a blade longer than 3 inches.

Powell pleaded not guilty to both charges when he appeared at Llandrindod Wells Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, November 9.

His trial has been scheduled to take place in Llandrindod on January 18, 2023.
