ARMED police raided a Newtown property close to the town centre to make arrests on Saturday night, according to eyewitness reports.
The raid reportedly took place at a residential address in Back Lane, Newtown, at around 8pm, with an unconfirmed number of people arrested.
One eyewitness, who did not want to be named, said they were walking home at around the same time as the raid, and saw 'up to five vans' in Back Lane, close to Newtown's Broad Street and where the main parade of shops, pubs and restaurants are based.
The eyewitness also said that officers were armed, dressed in dark clothing, and that they could see arrests being carried out once the property was entered.
Dyfed-Powys Police has been approached for comment.
