A NEWTOWN man has learnt an expensive lesson after he was fined more than £800 for speeding.
Toby Lewis McDonnell, 38, was spotted driving his Seat Leon on Salop Road in Welshpool, where the speed limit is 30 miles per hour, at 55mph at around 10.14am on April 7 this year.

McDonnell, of The Crescent, Newtown, did not appear at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, November 1, where the case was proved in his absence.
He was fined £660 and had 6 points placed on his driving licence.
He must also pay £90 costs and a £66 surcharge – making a total of £816.
