A MAN found to be driving at just shy of 100 miles per hour on a Powys road has been handed six penalty points and fined.
John Paul Wilkinson was driving an Audi Q5 at 97mph on the A40 Brecon bypass on the afternoon of April 17. The offence occurred just after 1pm on the dual carriageway, where the speed limit is 70mph.
The 41-year-old was not present at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on Friday, October 21, but had written in with a guilty plea.
In addition to receiving penalty points on his licence, magistrates fined Wilkinson, of Teeswater Close, Long Lawford, in Warwickshire, £307 and ordered him to pay £90 costs and a £34 surcharge – making a total financial penalty of £431.
