A 20-year-old woman has been fined more than £800 and received penalty points after she was arrested for driving an electric scooter without insurance.
Cerys Edwards was seen riding a Pro Scooters electric scooter in Brecon at around 1pm on March 25 this year and stopped by police.
Edwards, of Cae Derw, Brecon, was not at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on October 14, where a case of driving without insurance was proved in her absence.
She was stopped while riding the scooter in the Llanfaes area of Brecon, with officers discovering there was no insurance in force covering the use of the vehicle.
Magistrates fined Edwards £660 and she must pay £90 costs and a £66 surcharge – leaving her facing a total financial penalty of £816.
He also had 6 points placed on her driving licence.
