Greggs has revealed that it will be reopening its Newtown town centre shop later this year.
The popular bakery chain will be welcoming customers back to its High Street store after being closed for almost eight months.
No explanation has been given as to why the shop has been temporarily closed however it is understood that there have been issues with staff shortages.
In a statement, a Greggs spokesperson said: “Greggs can confirm it will reopen its shop in Newtown, Powys by the end of the year. We will provide you with further details when we have them.”
The High Street shop has been temporarily closed since February with a sign in the shop window apologising to town centre customers.
"Sorry, we've had to temporarily close this shop, we'll be back soon!," the sign reads. "Our ovens are still baking at Pool Road."
Other Greggs shops in Powys are at Broad Street, Welshpool; Station Crescent, Llandrindod Wells; Doldowlod petrol station and Station Road near Builth Wells.
