An alleged drug dealer is to face trial at a crown court over claims he was caught by Newtown police with £2,500 worth of cannabis in his car.
Mohammad Rahman, 27, denies two charges which the prosecution claim he had a “significant role” in the supply of the Class B drug. The charge also states that officers found £600 in cash and a set of scales inside the car he was driving.
The prosecution alleges that Mr Rahman’s phone had messages linked with supply and he had been supplying cannabis to others for some time.
Welshpool Magistrates’ Court also heard that police officers are carrying out investigations into Mr Rahman’s lifestyle in relation to proceeds of crime.
Mr Rahman, of Bloxwich, Walsall, denied possession with intent to supply cannabis on October 21, 2020 and concerned in the supply of cannabis between February 18 2020 and October 22 2020 when he appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court through a video link from his solicitor’s office in the West Midlands.
A trial will take place at Mold Crown Court on November 8 with Mr Rahman remaining on unconditional bail.
