An elderly woman died days after she was found "confused and hypothermic"after suffering a fall near her son's home in Welshpool.
An inquest heard that Jean Eirwen Wheatley, 83, was found during the early hours of July 21. The fall had not been seen by anyone else.
Mrs Wheatley was admitted to A&E at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital at 6.06am where she was treated by doctors and nurses.
A CT scan of her brain showed acute bilateral subdural haematomas - when a blood vessel in the space between the skull and the brain is damaged.
Following a referral to Royal Stoke University Hospital's neurology specialists, the plan for Mrs Wheatley was "conservative management".
Sadly, Mrs Wheatley, who lived in Brook Street, Welshpool, died at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital six days after her fall.
Pontypridd Coroner's Court has yet to announce when the full inquest into Mrs Wheatley's death will take place.
