A greenfield site near Welshpool is set to be the site of 14 new homes after it was sold to new owners.

Two of the three sites which are part of the property sale are to be located at Castle Caereinion near Welshpool, and have been snapped up by an unnamed buyer.

The land for the development is spread over 1.28 hectares and the project has been given planning permission to build 14 units on the greenfield site.

The deal was put together by West Midlands based Forge Property Consultants. The company announced the sale along with deals for a site in Hope just five miles outside of Wrexham.

A Forge spokesperson said the Powys deal had been “a complicated transaction to put together, with issues to resolve around future access” and noted that it had been “the culmination of four years of work for a client that Forge has worked with for over ten years”.

Director at Forge Property Consultants, Charles Lawson, who negotiated the sales, said: “We are very pleased to have sold these three development sites; it is encouraging to see continued activity from developers, despite the prevailing economic conditions.”

Mr Lawson also added how pleased had been to complete the deals even though they involved a lot of complicated issues: “These sales were not straightforward and are good examples of the complex deals that Forge Property Consultants are able to deliver for our clients.

“We would be pleased to help anyone who has land that may be suitable for development and we are well placed to assist through the entire process, from feasibility through to planning and eventual sale.”
