FOUR men are set to face trial next year over allegations they were involved in burglaries across six different counties throughout Wales and England – including Powys.
Brad Oakley, Andrew Bell, Sean Thomas and Jason Thomas are charged with conspiring together to commit burglary with intent to steal by trespassing buildings in Powys, Ceredigion, Gwynedd, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
The group will face trial at Mold Crown Court next April. The foursome initially pleaded not guilty at Welshpool Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 30. A plea and trial preparation hearing in Mold was adjourned today (September 30) but a provisional trial date has been set to start on April 24, 2023. The trial is set to last for five days.
The alleged offences happened in 2019, between July 7 and August 24.
Oakley, 22, of Willow Road, Dudley; Bell, 51, of Princess Road, Oldbury, Sandwell and Sean Thomas, 28, of Poplar Crescent, Dudley, all deny a charge of conspiracy to burgle.
Jason Thomas, 42, of Queen's Street, Dudley, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to burgle and driving a motor vehicle dangerously on roads between Newtown and Telford on August 23, 2019.
All four men remain on unconditional bail.
