WELCOME to camera club and a weekly showcase of what makes this part of the country just so special.

Few would argue we are not fortunate and blessed to live in such a part of the world where the natural world is often so close to our doorsteps that our gardens become part of the greenery.

Of course we are now entering the time of year when trees shed their leaves and nature prepares for the rigours of winter.

It would be fair to say that autumn lacks the warmth of summer, the inspiration of spring and nostalgia of winter.

However it plays a part in our lives and that of the natural world.

MORE NEWS:

It is hard to not look at the world with some trepidation these days. Over the past two years we have endured so much, from the pandemic and national lockdowns to the anxiety of the cost of living crisis.

We are also witnessing the biggest war on European soil in almost a century as Russia threatens to take the entire continent back decades with its war in Ukraine.

All we can do is stay calm and carry on and try to have some faith that everything will be alright.

We are surrounded by people who make a difference in our lives. From the friendly shopkeeper, the smiling publican or perhaps a friend who knows just what to say.

Celebrate these people in your life today and the world will seem a brighter place for you and everyone around you.
