A POWYS man faces trial over accusations of supplying cocaine after he was alleged to have been found in possession of more than 100 grams of the Class A drug.
Joel Isaac Elijah Jacobi faces a total of four charges in relation to drugs and is due to appear at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court next month.
The 27-year-old, from Brecon, is charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply cocaine.
Between August 24 and September 7 this year he is accused of supplying 122.02 grams of cocaine at Pwllgloyw, between Builth Wells and Brecon; with a similar charge relating to him being in possession of 11.5 grams of the drug in Brecon on September 21. The cocaine charges are indictable only, meaning they can only be heard at the crown court.
Jacobi, of Castle Street, Brecon, also faces two charges of possessing cannabis – 8.9g in Aber Village, near Talybont-on-Usk, on August 25 and 2.39g in Brecon on September 21.
Jacobi appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on Friday, September 23, where he was remanded into custody until his next court appearance.
Magistrates refused bail as they deemed Jacobi would likely abscond or commit further offences if released. He will appear next at Merthyr Crown Court on October 21.
