A POWYS man will remain in prison until his trial date next month.
Antony Stephens, who stands accused of harassing Gail Stephens between August 14 and 17 this year, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court this week for an onward remand hearing.
Stephens, 53, of Fron Hir, Knighton, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of harassment without violence when he appeared before the court in August. His trial is due to take place at Welshpool on October 5.

It is alleged Stephens pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of Gail Stephens in that on August 15 he attended her address and she told you that she didn’t want you there. He is then said to have re-attended on August 16 on at least two further occasions where he caused her harassment.
Stephens, currently in custody at HMP Berwyn, denies the offence.
Magistrates remanded him in custody on Tuesday, September 20, until his trial.
