ANOTHER week has passed and now we all look to the future once more.
The last fortnight has seen many reflecting on the past following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Some will have looked back to a simpler time though few among us can remember a time before the rule of the Queen.
It is part of the human condition to view the past with a certain romance.
Often enough it is because we remember how we felt at the time, younger and carefree and without the weight of the world on our shoulders.
The reality of course was very different and had been times of hardship for past generations.

We are now facing up to our own hardship in the form of the cost of living crisis which threatens to undermine progress of past decades and send Britain back to an age we hoped would never be repeated.
Foodbanks are the norm in 2022 Britain and soon heat banks will be established.
It is indeed a depressing thought as we celebrate a new monarch with a newly elected Prime Minister in office.
There will be little time for either to bed in as the crisis deepens.
All we can do as a society is ensure we do our best to look after one another and remember not to be too proud to ever ask for help if it is needed.
Escapism is also important and remember the great outdoors remains free even if the cost of everything else goes through the roof.
