A POWYS teenager has been ordered to complete community service for a second time in a matter of months after he was given a similar punishment for causing criminal damage.
Appearing at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates’ Court last week, Joshua Aaron Howell, 19, admitted a charge of criminal damage, relating to damaging a door frame in July of last year in Gloucester. In May Howell had been handed a 12-month community order for damaging a Powys County Council bike shelter in Brecon in April of this year.
That order was revoked and on Wednesday, August 31, Howell was ordered to carry out a new 12-month order that will include having to complete 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
Howell, of Castle Street, Brecon, had previously admitted damaging a door frame belonging to Darryl Bell in Gloucester on July 26, 2021.
He was also ordered to pay compensation to Mr Bell of £200. He must also pay a £95 surcharge and £85 costs.
Howell was also convicted of committing a new offence while a community order is in force and he was re-sentenced for both the new and original offence.
