Montgomery Cricket Club celebrated its 175th anniversary on Sunday and looked to the future as senior players were joined by youth players and their families for a festival of cricket at their Lymore Park ground.
Twinkle, the All Stars mascot, led the way in a series of cricketing activities that also included a very enthusiastic game of ladies cricket.
It must have been a very different scene in the early days of the club's history, but Lymore is no stranger to big cricket events, including the day in 1882 when 22 players from Montgomery beat the United All England XI.
The England XI was captained by W.G. Grace's cousin Walter Gilbert and included Harry Jupp, the first Englishman to face a ball in test cricket.
