THE new MMP Central Wales South League has been reduced to 12 clubs.

Newcastle Emlyn Football Club, known as the most ambitious of clubs in the Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire area, have folded having once competed in the Welsh League.

The club follows in the footsteps of Brecon who wound up their first team before a ball was kicked this season.

Rumours of Penybont United resigning from the league have been dismissed by league secretary Gareth Lloyd with the Radnorshire club set to meet next week amid fears the league could be reduced to just 11 clubs with the season only a month old.
