Rattus has heard that barristers are going on strike and the criminal justice system will grind to a halt.
There are already 59,000 outstanding cases and there seems no prospect of the backlog getting cleared.

It was there before Covid but made worse by Covid. Apparently junior barristers get less than the minimum wage and large numbers have given up and got other jobs.
Legal aid work just doesn’t pay.
This is very bad news for victims and means that people that should be in gaol are still walking the streets. It is good news for criminals.
