A POWYS motorist will have to pay nearly £800 in fines after she was found guilty of careless driving.
Jennifer Reynolds, from Newbridge-on-Wye, caused an accident in Llandrindod Wells on August 25 last year. The 53-year-old, who was driving a Volvo V40 on the A483 along Temple Street, was deemed to have been driving without due care and attention, in that she failed to react and collided with the rear of a Suzuki Baleno in front of her, which in turn forced it into the rear of the vehicle in front, a Suzuki Vitara.
Reynolds was not at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 23, where the case was heard in her absent. She was found guilty and fined a total of £774 and had 6 points placed on her licence.
She was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £620, as well as a £34 surcharge.
