A POWYS man is to face trial over charges of making and possessing indecent images of children.
Leon Barrie Shinkwin, from Bronllys, near Brecon, denied a total of four charges put to him when he appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates' Court on Friday, August 5.
The 33-year-old is charged with making 16 indecent images of children and being in possession of 73 prohibited images of children. Additionally, he is charged with possessing one image of an extreme pornographic nature involving an animal, namely a pig. All three charges are said to have occurred between April 1, 2019, and May 8, 2021, at Bronllys.

The fourth charge relates to Shinkwin breaching a sexual harm prevention order, which alleges he deleted his internet history.
Shinkwin, of Pont-y-Wal Lane, Bronllys, denied all four charges and will face trial. He is now set to appear at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court on September 2.
