A Newtown man has been ordered to pay more than £1,000 in fines and costs after abandoning a car in a residential street.
George McGleave, of Lon Maesycoed, Maesyrhandir, was prosecuted by Stafford Borough Council for abandoning a vehicle on land in the open air for almost six weeks.
A silver Vauxhall Insignia had been left in Virginia Avenue, Stafford between February 2 and March 15 "without lawful authority".

He was fined £660 and ordered to pay court costs of £360 and a victim surcharge of £66 taking the full total to £1,086.
The offence was proved in McGleave's absence at Cannock Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, August 2.
