A MOTORIST speeding through a Powys village at 50 miles per hour has escaped with a fine and points on his licence.
James Williams was clocked driving his Volkswagen Tiguan at 50mph through a 30mph zone in Llyswen, near Builth Wells, on March 4 this year.
The 62-year-old was not at Llanelli Magistrates' Court on July 29 but had pleaded guilty to a charge of speeding on the A470.
Williams, from Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, was fined £233 by magistrates and ordered to pay £90 costs and a £34 surcharge; they also put 5 points on his driving licence.
