A Llanidloes playpark has been given a £20,000 upgrade which has been praised by the town council as having "brilliant" equipment for children.
Llanidloes Town Council has paid £10,000 towards the Maesydre playpark revamp which the remainder was paid by Powys County Council.
At a recent meeting, councillors heard that Powys County Council had paid their share of the upgrades however the council was not sure whether the standard was as expected.
Llanidloes Mayor Jamie Jones said: "I'm not necessarily comfortable paying if the work is not yet finished.
"If the work isn't done, the work isn't done. It's a lot of money £20,000. We want to get it right."
The Mayor raised concerns that a Rospa inspection may find the playpark is not up to standard. Councillors were told that Powys County Council is responsible for the Rospa report for the playpark.
Since the full council meeting, town clerk Sonia Pritchard said: "We have paid up for the playground now as we are satisfied with the works carried out there."
