A Brecon Mountain Rescue Team spokesperson said: "We were called by Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police at 12 noon yesterday (July 11) to respond to an individual who had suffered a cardiac arrest in a remote area north west of Knighton.
"Whilst we were en-route we were informed that Wales Air Ambulance Charity helicopter had landed and were providing treatment. The helicopter then transferred the patient to an awaiting ambulance."
The condition of the person is not known.
What is a cardiac arrest?
A cardiac arrest occurs when the heart suddenly stops pumping blood around the body, starving the brain of oxygen and leading someone to fall unconscious and stop breathing.
It is different to a heart attack, which occurs when the blood supply to the heart muscle is cut off, often because of a clot in one of the coronary arteries.
